The symptoms of meningitis may include one or more of the following but may not necessarily occur together
- Severe headache
- High temperature / fever
- Vomiting
- Neck stiffness
- Dislike of bright lights
- Drowsiness / lethargy
- Joint pains
- Rash- red/purple spots which looks like bruising under the skin and does not blanch when pressed with a glass
If you are unwell or are concerned that you or a friend may have meningitis contact the Students’ Health Service, Occupational Health Service or your own GP immediately.
